Privacy Policy

This policy explains how BeachGuard handles information in the current version of the app. It is the same policy shown inside the app under Settings › Legal.
Information BeachGuard does not collect
BeachGuard does not collect, transmit, sell, share, or use for tracking personal data. It has no accounts, advertising, analytics, cloud sync, remote monitoring, or third-party data SDKs.
On-device information
During an active Guard Mode session, BeachGuard receives motion measurements to determine whether the iPhone has been picked up or significantly moved. These raw measurements remain in memory and are discarded when the session ends.
Your selected alarm gain, sensitivity, countdown, theme, and onboarding acknowledgement are stored locally in the app's preferences. A Trusted Person Code, if you create one, is stored in the device-only Keychain using the strongest available passcode-protected accessibility class. BeachGuard never receives Face ID data or your iPhone passcode.
Permissions
Motion access is used only for active foreground Guard Mode monitoring. Notifications are optional and are used only for a local notice if an active session ends because the app is no longer available. Face ID or Touch ID is requested by iOS when you choose to authenticate. BeachGuard does not request camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, Bluetooth, or calendar access.
Retention and control
Motion samples are not retained. You can change locally stored preferences in Settings. You can remove the Trusted Person Code in Settings after owner authentication; do this before deleting the app if you want to remove that device-only Keychain credential.
Security and limitations
BeachGuard uses Apple system services for device-owner authentication, Keychain storage, Guided Access status, audio, and local notifications. No app can guarantee prevention or recovery of theft. Keep an iPhone passcode and Find My enabled, and do not rely on BeachGuard for emergency response.
Changes
If BeachGuard's data practices materially change, this policy will be updated in the app and in the App Store privacy disclosures before the changed practice is used.

Because BeachGuard has no servers and no account system, there is no data for you to request, export, or have deleted — everything the app stores stays on your iPhone and is removed with the app, apart from the Trusted Code, which you can remove from Settings first.
